Snatched away by the Inquisition during the start of his career into the Ecclesiarchy, Vae’rul was groomed to use his fiery charisma and inspirational speeches to bolster the souls fighting hard for the sake of the Imperium. Pure as his mind was, however, he was also profoundly naive and the mind can only take so much, no matter how resolute the soul might be. Unbeknownst to Vae’rul, the Inquisitor that had selected him operated on the fringe, just a few steps shy of being declared a radical and cast out all together. More and more damning material was brought for Vae’rul to study, to learn, for what better way to combat the evil they face than to know just what sort of horrendous power such evil wields?
Deeper into madness he ventured, and soon the power he had been taught all his life to fear began to creep into his sermons and speeches. He began to relish in the way his voice could sway a crowd from depression to lusty madness with a few fevered verses. Prideful of his oratory skills, he wrested away from his Inquisitorial master during an operation, packing many of the tomes he had been told to study in order to ‘fight fire with fire’, using them instead to fuel his twisted doctrine, and sway loyal minds away from the Imperial Faith.
