Capital city of Fydae Minos, Minos City is certainly not a metropolis by any standard. This city of 5 million boasts a modest starport and has the accompanying bars, hotels, brothels, markets, and so forth that off-worlders expect. Naturally, the rural folk don’t trust the city or it’s inhabitants. And, in turn, the city dwellers don’t particularly like to venture beyond city limits.
The locals call Minos City, “Rail City.” Almost the entirety of grain exports in the eastern hemisphere are sent to Minos City for transport off world. The millions of tons of freight are transported via a vast interconnected rail system that cuts through ten of thousands of grain fields. Naturally, the friendly rivals of Minos City are the citizens of Minos City – a place by the same name on the opposite city of the planet. Often the two cities will be referred to as East Minos and West Minos to differentiate the names.
Recently an Imperial Cult has taken root in Minos City. This is rare for a world so individualistic. Most citizens worship the Emperor on a personal level in their own homes. The idea of a organized religion is alien, and naturally rejected by anyone outside of city limits.
